Commercial Building Maintenance Certification program
The Commercial Building Maintenance Certification program, developed jointly by Washtenaw Community College and the U-M Facilities Maintenance department, was designed to provide a practical, structured, and accredited course of study for University of Michigan maintenance staff. The class is unique in that it brings the college directly to the workplace – classes are held onsite at Plant Academy. Graduates receive twelve college credits and a certificate upon completion.
The classes are targeted for FM Campus and Hospital Maintenance Mechanics. With supervisory approval and as space permits, Facilities Maintenance and Work Management support staff and Call Center representatives may also enroll.
